A disaster waiting to happen

Many residents are worried about the

safety of youths on the roads in Doxey.

It’s mainly about riding bikes - without lights, dashing off the pavement into the road without warning, riding against the stream of traffic — but skateboarders are taking unnecessary risks, too.

Even the best drivers would have difficulty avoiding an accident with these young people. It may be only a matter of time before a young person is badly hurt in this way.

Parents are you sure that your child is playing safely and knows the rules of sensible cycling?

Motorists please be aware of the risks young people take. They may be foolish but no one wants them to get hurt.

Play area latest

The holes in the football pitch at the end of Greensome Close have now been filled in. So there is no need to play football on other grassed areas in Doxey. But why not use the other goalmouth and give the new grass time to grow?
