“Policing Doxey” Inspector Juliet Prince, commander of the local police unit covering Stafford, including our Parish, will be visiting us to discuss the policing of Doxey now and in the future. This is an opportunity to have a serious discussion on a matter that concerns us all right now, and will continue do so in the coming years. will be held in the Church Hall The meeting will be held in the Church Hall Tuesday 26 September Commencing at 7:00pm. Lunch Club Many of you have been enjoying the excellent food at St. Thomas and St. Andrew’s Church each Thursday during the Summer. Jean Jesson’s team have done stirling work and are set to continue through the Autumn. All Doxey residents are welcome to dine at very reasonable prices on; Tuesdays between 12.30 and 2.00 (Please note however the change of day) Clearout Day A clearout day is planned to take place at the Sutton Centre on: Sunday 1st October ,1:30 to 3:30 pm. Please start sorting out your unwanted items so other people can put them to good use. Most things are acceptable but we can’t take electrical items, car parts, paint or oils [by law]. Hope to see you on the 1st with your unwanted items. You could find some thing that you need, you never know.
“Have Your Say Day” Saturday 9th September between 10:30am and 4:30pm A three dimensional model of the Parish of Doxey will be on exhibition in the Church Hall. It will show the existing area and the proposed new developments that are proposed to take place in the next ten years. This is your opportunity to give your opinions to your local representatives as to just how you feel Doxey should be in the future. Please come along and have a chat. Refreshment will be available for all visiting the exhibition.
Bring and Buy Sale Doxey Friendship Group are organising a bring and buy sale on: Saturday 23rd September From 10.00 to 12.00 So come along and support this worthwhileevent. Mikron Doxey's old friends the Mikron Theatre Company will be back in September with a performance of "Mrs Brunel" which is about the life and work of the great engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel as seen through his wife's eyes. As usual, there will be the songs, the humour and the pathos. Reports are coming in of an excellent show! The performance will take place: on Sunday, 24th September in the afternoon. Donations of around £5.00 would be appreciated. Found A set of keys was found in Doxey during thelast week of August. If you think they might beyours then give Joan a ring on 251622 Panto. Doxey players are planning their second pantomime “Puss in Boots” for Easter 2007.We are looking for cast members from allage groups and of course for backstage crew. Workshops are being planned forbudding actors and from these we will be casting the show.
