Doxey Times - November 2005
Getting the best for Doxey - the parish plan
Doxey’s new parish council is determined to do its best to make the village a better place to live in. To do this properly - and to be able to get grants to help pay for development - it needs a plan.
But, if the plan is to work it has to be Doxey’s plan not just the parish council’s. Everyone who lives in Doxey should have their say in what goes into the plan and lots of people should be involved in producing it.
To start the ball rolling a meeting will be held in early December for everyone in Doxey to come along and find out how they can take part in producing Doxey’s plan. Look out for the leaflet which will be delivered soon to every house in Doxey. This will
give more information about what a plan could do;
give the date, time and place for the meeting.
There will also be posters in different parts of Doxey advertising the meeting.
Digital photography
The first session took place on Saturday, 5 November. There has been a lot of enthusiasm for this course. It may be possible to run another one. If you are interested call 251622.
Secretary to the Community Association
Thank you to those who responded to the notice in the last Doxey Times. Arrangements are now being made for installing the new secretary.
Positive Recycling in Action
This October’s Clearout Day was larger than previous events with virtually everything donated being taken up on the day and which will no doubt be put to further good use. The few items that were left over have been given to the charity shops in Stafford, so nothing was sent to the tip.
Many thanks to:
all those who brought items to this event;
to the Sutton Trust for the use of their premises;
to those of all ages who helped with organisation and gave their personal time.
