Playgroup Doxey Pre-school Playgroup have worked hard to get the funding they require to continue their excellent work in the community. They now need your help. Could you, or someone you know, join the committee as they have recently lost both their treasurer and secretary? If so please ring Claire on 244026 to find out more. Healthy Living A motivational, healthy living, self help group is now running at Hair @ 108 Meet new people, discuss diets and get confidentially weighed. Sessions are Thursdays 9.15 to 10.00am Incentives will be given for weight loss. There is a charge of £2.00 per session, half of which will be donated to Doxey Preschool Playgroup Puss in Boots We have just had a most enjoyable casting workshop and are pleased to say that we are on course for a great production in April. Already we have greater interest than at this time last year but it is not too late. If you have any skills on or off stage that we could use then please give us a ring. Phone Anita on 605 653 Green Awards We are pleased to announce that Stafford Borough Council have presented the DCA with a Commended Award for our work helping the environment. It will be displayed at the Sutton Centre along with the ones received on previous years. Our thanks to Sally Hems fordesigning and painting a commemorative plate to be displayed alongside the certificate. TV or not TV
The youth club requires a television which can be used to run X-Box games. To do this it must have a scart input. If you have a suitable TV that you no longer require then please ring John on 604233. Make a difference
Do you want to see the youths of Doxey able to do more with their time than aimlessly wander the streets? Then why not support the youth club. A couple of hours of your time on a Monday night is all that they need. For further information please ring John on 604233 January Spruce The Doxey community association have organised a clean up day on Sunday 7th January 2007 2pm until 3.30pm. Meeting outside St. Andrew and St. Thomas’Church and finishing at the Sutton Centre for tea and cake. Please come and help if you can, the work is not onerous and the camaraderie is great. Anyone who attends will be supplied with bags and litter pickers and we will all benefit from a more pleasant environment. Doggy News A polite reminder to any dog owners. Please ensure that if your dog fouls the pavement that you clear it up. Owners can be fined up to £1000 by Stafford Borough Council for not clearing up after their dog. The Sutton Centre provides dog poo bags and ask owners to disposed of it appropriately.
